Sharon Stuart is a partner in the firm’s Litigation practice group. She handles complex business and insurance cases in the state and federal courts and in arbitration. Ms. Stuart has been fortunate to defend a wide variety of insurance coverage, bad faith and fraud cases. Her expertise inclues life insurance, annuity, broker/dealer and agency issues, first party property cases, environmental claims, financial product (such as residual value insurance), fidelity, and surety bond litigation. She has also handled a broad spectrum of cases involving corporate governance, patent and licensing issues, consumer finance issues, drug pricing and product liability claims.
Ms. Stuart’s trial experience includes commercial and insurance fraud, bad faith, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence and wrongful death cases. She has also defended class action lawsuits in areas as diverse as consumer finance, insurance, toxic tort and employment law (Equal Pay Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, age, sex and race discrimination).
Prior to joining the firm in 1993, Ms. Stuart was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Sharon Lovelace Blackburn, Chief United States District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama and practiced law at a large Dallas, Texas firm.
