Governmental Affairs

Christian & Small’s attorneys are actively engaged in representing both governmental entities as well as individuals before public entities. Our practice includes representation of the Personnel Board of Jefferson County in complex litigation and in counseling the agency in administrative, quasi-judicial, employment-related, statutory and regulatory matters. We also serve as General Counsel to the Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority. In that capacity we advise the BJCTA on a wide spectrum of issues including labor, regulatory, contractual, procurement, employment and other aspects of governmental affairs law.

Christian & Small’s practice also focuses on counseling public officials on key areas of governmental affairs law, such as the Ethics in Government Act, the Alabama Open Meetings Act and the Alabama Public Records Act.
